Remember Our Heroes

Mission/Vision

TO HONOR THOSE WHO HAVE
SERVED OUR COUNTRY
AND

EDUCATE YOUNGER PEOPLE

Background

It is the objective of Remember Our Heroes to connect veterans to classrooms, so that their contributions towards securing and maintaining our freedom are not forgotten.
*
Too often national holidays such as Veterans Days and Memorial Day pass our young people by, with little focus or mention of the great sacrifices others have made for our freedom.
*
With approximately 1500 WW ll veterans dieing daily, the opportunity for these national treasures to share their stories is beginning to fade away. Remember Our Heroes gives veterans from all conflicts the opportunity to share their experiences and relate those to what is going on in the world today.

Presentation Options

We recognize that it is difficult to keep students focused and interested during presentations and that as a teacher you never know what to expect when you agree to allow an outside speaker into the classroom. Will it go over great, or will the presentation flop?
*
Remember Our Heroes removes the mystery and uncertainty. All of our presentations are multi-media in format and follow a design that has been proven to keep students interested and engaged.
*
Presentations typically run 60 minutes in length and provide one or two veterans to speak. You, the educator, may specify which war or you may look to us for recommendations for your needs.

Available Speakers

WW II Korea Vietnam Gulf

Bosnia/Kosovo Somalia Afghanistan CIA

FBI POW

*
We are continuing to add speakers to our roster, so if you have a request from a conflict not indicated above, we will do our best to accomodate you.

*
Presentations are not only suitable for history classes. Every war has multiple components that could blend into almost any subject. If you are a science teacher you can address the technology used in war. Math teachers can relate the presentation to how code breakers helped win WW ll. Art students can hear an artist explain how they depicted a battle on canvas. English teachers may have students read about a war, hear a speaker then have students write an essay!
